What is Google AMP?
Google AMP i.e. Accelerated Mobile Pages is an open-source mobile initiative project, created by Google and Twitter together. Its main objective is to provide content for mobile users in minimum time. This is only for mobile users. So that your site loads fastly on mobile.

When you enable AMP in your site, then the data cache of your site will be stored in Google cache. When someone searches related content from your site in mobile, then there will be an AMP version show off your site and clicking on it will load the content from direct google cache. In this way, Google will be able to provide content to its mobile users in minimum time.

Apart from this, the use of javascript in AMP has been made negligible. Because of javascript loads very slowly, which has a great impact on site loading. Apart from this, the tag has not been used in its CSS.

You will be surprised to know that the HTML tags used in the AMP site are not like normal HTML tags. AMP developers have used it by creating HTML tags from themselves. Google says that it can make the loading speed of your site up to 90% faster. Your site will be loaded between 1 to 2 seconds in mobile devices too. With this, your site will also be 100% mobile-friendly.

Pages with AMP have been given a different look in Google SERPs. There is a small amp icon show below the site with its amp so that people can easily identify the amp pages. You can see an example of this below screenshot.
